Martin Brody is the new police chief of Amity, an island resort town somewhere in New England. He has a wife named Ellen, and two sons named Michael and Sean. On a Summer morning, Brody is called to the beach, where the mangled body of Summer vacationer Chrissie Watkins has washed ashore. The medical examiner tells Brody that it could have been a shark that killed Watkins. Mayor Larry Vaughn, who is desperate to not lose the money that will be brought in by 4th of July tourists, wants Brody to say Watkins's death was caused by a motorboat propeller instead of a shark, because the thought of a shark in Amity's waters would drive tourists away from Amity. It looks like Vaughn is a mayor who puts money ahead of people's lives. Shark expert Matt Hooper believes Watkins was killed by a shark. Hooper is proven right a few days later, when Alex Kintner is killed by the shark that killed Watkins. Looking for the quickest solution, Vaughn tells all of the local fishermen to let him know if they see the shark. A shark hunter named Quint offers to find the shark and kill it, but Vaughn thinks Quint's price of $10,000 is too high. When a tiger shark is killed and hauled in by a couple of boaters, Vaughn hastily says that the shark crisis is over, but Hooper says the shark that's been killing people a huge great white shark is still in Amity's waters, but Vaughn leaves the beaches opened because all he cares about is the 4th of July tourist money. On the 4th of July, Vaughn encourages people to swim at the beach, and Hooper is proven right again when the shark kills a man, biting the man's leg off. Michael, who was in the water at the time of the attack, is taken to the hospital, where he's treated for shock after watching the shark kill the guy. Brody asks Vaughn to hire Quint to find the shark. Because his own kids were at that beach too, Vaughn agrees to hire Quint to find the shark. Quint, Hooper, and Brody are sent out to sea in Quint's boat, the Orca, ready to do whatever it takes to find the shark.

Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss and offer excellent benefits pending in the Spielberg adaptation of the novel by Peter Benchley. The music of John Williams is the icing on the cake.

"Shark" is a journey of excitement, suspense continues to deliver the goods to the public 25 years later. The plot is rather thin: a big shark is terrorizing the tourists at the beach. However, he said that with the direction of Steven Spielberg is amazing. The young (only 28 at the time) showed unlimited potential that would only increase with age. A great achievement that could have been a multi-million dollar bust. 5 of 5 stars.

"Shark" is a wonderful piece of DivX film Jaws art! The Jaws Thriller film understands the need to work very precise editing, as well as an investment in the development of characters. Above all, Spielberg not only started the Summer Blockbuster season in 1975, but have set the correct parameters for an effective police as a genre in DVD movie Jaws making. Personally I would not change one iota in this film. Editing is amazing, the actors all have the right tone for their parts and the pace is perfect when combined with John Williams score. Absolutely brilliant in every way.

Who would have thought that this simple idea could be an incredible impact this film, even decades later. It is a testament to the leadership capacity of the Spielberg Jaws film that still creates deep seated phobias in that view! Essentially a remake of Duel with a shark, except the replacement of the van is a lesson in suspense for the directors. With special effects of the public now tends to see everything in glorious color - not much is left to the imagination. With Jaws only see the end, the movement under the water or the impact of the attacks - the shark is hidden until the end. This is the best option because it is looking very elastic, but also increases the tension as the unknown moves under the water to attack us. Roy Scheider as Chief Brody is excellent with strong support from Dreyfuss and Shaw. The chemistry between Dreyfuss and Scheider and Shaw is as perfect as it should be tetchy. Dialogue is the ground in many scenes and has become part of common knowledge in the world - are spoofed in films including Lethal Weapon 3, Chasing Amy, to name two. Later remade as Jurassic Park (!) This is a classic piece of tension. Ignoring the effects of shark rubber towards the end and sit and marvel at what a master director could make history with a simple and basic effects.

Early one summer night in the fictional Atlantic resort Amity Island, Chrissie decides to take a bath, while the moonlight skinny part of your friends on the beach. Removed suddenly below the ocean surface, never again. When you wash the parts of their land, Police Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) suspects the worst, but Mayor Vaughn (Murray Hamilton), aware of the lucrative tourist industry and the proximity to July 4th holiday, it was refuses to bring the island into a business that kills shark alert. After dinner shark a few more victims, the mayor orders the local fishermen to catch the culprit. One more fatality later, Brody and Hooper join forces with flinty old salt Quint (Robert Shaw), the only local fisherman willing to take a Great White in particular because the price is right. The three travel outside of Quint's boat "The Orca," soon face to teeth with the enemy. I loved Jaws, one of the best films from each other and that no one should miss. I liked the cast of characters Cpt. Quint and Brody, Richard Dreyfuss wrong not to get eaten by sharks.
