When his longtime girlfriend Becky says no to marriage and the house he has built, architect Newton Davis takes it badly. Three months later a one night liaison with livewire waitress Gwen gets rather out of control when she tracks down the dream house, moves in, and lets it be known locally that she and Newton are married. Everyone in the small town take to her, including his parents, while Becky shows renewed interest. When Newton realises the situation he suggests to Gwen that continuing the deception might have advantages for both of them.

Wonderful bit of fluff, especially compared to the raw, dark, or "nervous" drek that dominates these days. Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin are great together. Team should more often. Congratulations to the writer, Mark Stein. It is made by the compulsive liars in this HouseSitter Comedy are especially imaginative.

Totally hilarious comedy with the lovely Goldie playing an excellent artist with his way of bs in the life of a group of complete strangers, disturb the existence of many and the enrichment of others. One of Martin and Goldie better.

Housesitter is very clever and had me laughing throughout the movie. The acting is great, too. HAVN'T I laughed harder at a film: HouseSitter this year! My fav scene was when it became clear in Goldie Hawn dancing lessons! It's very funny. Goldie and Steve are a perfect match! Very entertaining! 7 / 10

If you like Steve Martin and / or Goldie Hawn, then this HouseSitter Comedy film is a "must see"! Both characters are very typical of them, and together they are dynamite. I started laughing at the beginning of the film, and kept on laughing until the end! The final was a little surprising, but good! Peter MacNicol's character was a bit like "John Cage" in the television series "Ally McBeal." Of course without crackers "special." But since it has only a small part in this film, which doesen't ruin. My only question was: How could he afford it?

I wish I could erase from my memory so you can see him again for the first time. I thought the movie: HouseSitter was brilliant and funny. Goldie is adorable. Steve is adorable. If only there was a sequel to this wonderful comedy.
