Capitalizing on his fame as the star of 'Hogan's Heroes,' Bob Crane (Greg Kinnear) dove into the freewheeling spirit of the 60s and 70s with relish, having affairs with numerous women. Eventually, Crane teamed up with video technician John Carpenter to document his exploits, an association that may very well have led to his murder in a Scottsdale, Arizona motel room in 1978, which remains officially unsolved to this day.

"Auto Focus" takes a look at a TV Land's greatest tragedies, and vision of one of the biggest mysteries. In it, Greg Kinnear plays Bob Crane, star of "Hogan Heroes." On the outside, a crane was quiet, church going, family man teetotaling leader. But on the inside, was a sex addict, and amateur pornographer. Kinnear does well in his role, showing the ups and downs of the career of Bob Crane. Willem Dafoe plays John "Carpy" Carpenter, the chilling A / V genius with access to emerging video technology, to accept their help Crane dark side. It is heartbreaking to see a talent worthy of being destroyed by their defects. The Auto Focus Drama film does not offer many clues about who really killed Bob Crane. That mystery remains unsolved. But for now, Bob Crane's life is more than enough to hide his death.
