| This Contact Drama is adapted some ideas from physics advanced some of the greatest minds to ever live. Unfortunately, the great minds had little to do with the execution of this movie. Jodie Foster is a renegade scientist with a chip on his shoulder, which is convinced of the existence of extraterrestrials, and their involvement in human history. Foster's acting is, as always, very credible, however, the character is written as a bratty mucus, which is surrounded by morons. Somehow, the contact with some unknown force that occurs, providing an instruction manual for a device. Remember that children use gyroscopic toys to play with? 'Nuff said. Apparently, this is like traveling through worm holes and what not. The gyroscope, however, other special effects are interesting and original story, has moments of revelations to offer. Often, however, the Contact Drama movie resorts to the cliché of the idiots and psycho fans before scientific proof of its Jukebox. Experiences on what makes its way through an ill-conceived final. The cast act with enthusiasm, but their efforts were sunk by writing characters as blithering idiots. Are not credible because the people that nothing of this magnitude, nor the time to make the DVD movie Contact something more plausible. For a Contact film that seems to offer ideas, this crashes and burns. |
| This is from a non-believer, but a true fan of this movie. Hollywood has finally managed to make a fantastic science fiction film. I can not express my feelings about this movie, but I can say that has affected me greatly. I started questioning things, like faith, the universe and humanity. This image of people's reactions, interactions and actions is just shiny. Not only did the filmmakers ask how they would react to the knowledge of other forms of intelligent life, but not to focus on the ugly and slimy aliens and instead focuses on the U.S.. Jodie Foster is excellent in this film, and should at least have been nominated as Best Actress, and in my opinion, won all the prizes available this year. Also the Contact movie itself should have won. Although Titanic is a good film, and made me mourn, do not touch me as much as contacts. I cry every time Ellie Arroway says: ".. some celestial event. Poetry! They should have sent a poet. (-) I had no idea ...." . |
| Probably one of the best movies of this decade, and certainly one of the most enjoyable, though eclectic, science fiction movies ever made. The story dives deep into the human spirit and says there is only so much we do not know, but we are no less special or important in the grand scheme. It is an excellent mix of science and philosophy that will leave you asking a bunch of questions - questions that can not be easily answered - the questions we all ask at some point in our lives. The point of this Contact Drama movie is not a physical contact with aliens, but rather in touch with ourselves. Contact with what we are and what we are. Not a film: Contact for the faint of heart, but is a true representation of Carl Sagan's vision of humanity. You wake up the child-like joy in who we are living in each one of us. |
| Tremendo, provocative and enlightening. Robert Zemeckis brings the novel by Carl Sagan and the story to the big screen. Science or science fiction. Very philosophical and can cause your heart to babble. A radio astronomer (Jodie Foster) spends his life proving that there is some intelligence in deep space. She takes the signal transmitted from a distant star that gives you a plan for a vehicle that will take a seat in the source of transmission. The young combat political pressure to be the first person who visits the lives of others. When the opportunity finally arrives, no one thinks you ever made the trip and I think it shows much less experience in audio / visual tape as eighteen hours of static. Near an impeccable cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, David Morse, James Wood, John Hurt, Tom Skerritt, Rob Lowe and Jake Busey. When it comes to special effects ... excellent. Over two and a half hours long, but well worth seeing. I think Sagan is smiling through eternity. |
