| Mendes is proving to be the class of Peter Weir bidets that his time and is a script with depth, meaning and weight. This is refreshing. His sight of the great stories in a unique way. Nothing is lost, and each element: writing, casting, set decorating, acting, cinematography masterfully integrates by Mendes (as in American Beauty). If you like the story of 1st and have no patience for Gangland violence, then this is a Road To Perdition Drama for you. Gangland Chicago during his depression and Rooney Mafia boss (played by Paul Newman), has two children: a surrogate son, Michael Sullivan (Tom Hanks) and a natural born son, Conner (played wonderfully by Daniel Craig). Connor atrocities inflicted (including heat) from Sullivan, who is a clever hit man with supernatural excellence. Sullivan, driven by revenge, tries to save his son Michael in the same "road" it has taken. The visual imagery is striking. It takes one person at a time, and Conrad Hall did a great job of capturing Mendes vision lighting too on the nose. " Editing was brilliant, this Road To Perdition Drama movie is not slow, or no need to cut around. " The editing is invisible, and the pace is perfect for the story. This is a DVD worth of property. |
| I loved this movie! I am a true fan Tom Hanks, and I have always been impressed with all of their work. Most dramatic of his role as Cast Away, Green Mile, Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump, Apollo 13 and Philadelphia. In his hilarious role as a league of its own, Turner and Hooch, Catch Me If You Can, The Lady murderers, and of course great Toy Story. But Hanks in this Road To Perdition Drama movie is not the only major player that lights up the screen. Tyler Hoechlin, and coming from a star that shows great promise in the cooperation of Hollywood stars Hanks as a child and offers nothing less than great performance. It is certainly someone to watch over his career, I think they are going to do great things. Paul Newman, as always gives a brilliant performance on screen. It is truly a legend. We can not forget the people who do not have large roles in the film, but it helped make it great. The beautiful and very talented Jennifer Jason Leigh, who in the performance of Bastard Out of Carolina Single White Female and I will never forget, his grace brings to the screen as Hank's wife in the Road To Perdition movie and does an excellent job. Liam Aiken is another treasure found in the movies. He does a great job with this small role, and as their roles in Lemony Snickets and Sweet November, and I dreamed of Africa gives a great performance. |
| Based on real life and Japanese comics and films relating to the Lone Wolf and Cub, this is the story of a father and a son who will not get revenge for the murder of the rest of his family. This is a heart breaking examination of the relationship between parents and children and how bad it can cause a tragedy. This is not the comic, which is fine, as this excellent Road To Perdition movie that has the story in different subject areas. The book was a very good story with a very good story telling in the first place and a story about sin and redemption seconds. This is one of the few cases where the source material, but did not change in ruins by the movie: Road To Perdition adaptation. See this movie. It is a great Road To Perdition film no matter how they look. |
| This was a good film, but sad. It's a different role for Tom Hanks, however, I have never seen play a gangster, but before he did a good job in the film. Paul Newman played a good role as Mr. Rooney, and that he should have won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, but you can not win them all. Good story, however, I 10 10. |
| The story is told through the eyes of Michael Sullivan, Jr. is easy to follow. His father was a man beaten by the mob in the early 1930 that is crossed with the "family." Tylor Hoechlin played by young people and did an excellent job. Tom Hanks as the parent-beaten man did what he could to protect his son. Much violence and gun play. Find your car for rooting Hanks character even though it is an outlaw and a murderer. The action is good, the scenes well done and well portrayed the period. If there was a central figure would be a shot between Hanks and Hoechlin. Both outstanding job representing the characters. Well worth seeing. |
| There is much solemn and slow gangster Sam Mendes DVD movie Road To Perdition "Road to Peridition" Unfortunately, this is not enough to make a serious film. Tom Hanks is almost unrecognizable as a hard man (it is amazing what a bit of stubble will ), but also buy the Road To Perdition Drama film in which many of the cliches of Hollywood. This is a world where revenge is always justified, and when there are bad gangsters, but also good, which only kill when provoked, they love to their families, and that can cut a whole mob of evil "to boot us. It also gets worse as the Road To Perdition film progresses, and the eventual ending is quite corny. I always thought 'American Beauty' is less subversive acknowledges her fans, "Way to Peridition 'contains not a single subversive idea. This is a watchable film, but ultimately disappointing, too. |
| Many have hated, loved, or been disappointed by this movie. Hype does terrible things to the best and worst of things. Most of the reasons I have not heard like this film: Road To Perdition are ridiculous. Let me tell you, if you have not seen yet, go see it. Even if for some reason you do not think that's incredible, is one of the best movies you've seen of the year anyway. Road to Perdition is a beautiful film, both visually and in performance. Each actor in this case is worthy of praise and Academy attention, especially Jude Law. Any intentional emotional detachment, is a tragic story of betrayal, love, bonds, and revenge. There is no doubt that this Road To Perdition movie will become a classic. Do not dare to compare it with The Godfather: GANGSTER is a movie: Road To Perdition not a Road To Perdition Drama film MAFIA! Godfather never be overcome, so can not compare to it. Road to Perdition from now is the leading contender for Best Film Oscar. Unlike previous years, you deserve it. |
| An innocent boy becomes involved in the underworld of his father's business by accident. This is my interpretation of the film. I have no doubt that director's intentions were the same, but I think it was good idea bad execution of the script or can not be anything new at all in the first place. I think it is cool shots in the rain, lighting and camera movement. Way to ruin would have been much better if the DVD movie Road To Perdition was not abducted by the film. Throughout the Road To Perdition Drama film are shot so well composed that you forget the flavor. It seems as though you are sitting in front of a television to witness the breakdown of each table, and no history. I think the story is good for one hour. In the first half hour you do not know what is happening and that the only interesting part. Once you know the characters there is nothing to do with the exception of the rain, clothes and car. Very overrated film. Performance wise I do not think it was a great scope for anything. Recommended only for students of cinema. 7 / 10 |
