Earl Brooks is a highly respected businessman and was recently named Portland's Man of the Year. He hides a terrible secret however: he is a serial killer known as the Fingerprint Killer. He has been attending AA meetings and has kept his addiction to killing under control for two years now but his alter ego, Marshall, has re-appeared and is pushing him to kill again. When he does kill a couple while they are making love, he is seen and photographed by someone who also his own death and murder fetish. In a parallel story, the police detective investigating the murder is having problems of her own. She is going through a messy divorce and a violent criminal who had vowed revenge some years before has escaped from prison and is after her.

I liked this film, William Hurt and Kevin Costner had me believing that all the way. Even death as a force, I felt a great connection and sympathy for his characters. There was argument for intelligent dialogue between them and really had a great chemistry. The only reason this Mr. Brooks Mystery movie has 6 points was Demi Moore. She came along as this Super - who seemed to know everything before it happened. If she should have made clear psychological - there is no detective in real life or imagined that has been good. If you put Columbo Sherlock Holmes with a Nancy Drew and Angela Lansbury, launched in would not have been half as insightful nature of Moore. Your know-it-all arrogance and his performance was super hard laughable. If you do yoga, but you can not fight a hardened criminal prison with his arms tied behind his back. Well, at least, I can not. It would have been a great movie: Mr. Brooks ... well ...
