In this update of Disney's masterpiece film mixture of animation and music, new interpretations of great works of music are presented. It begins with an abstract battle of light and darkness set to the music of Beethoveen's Fifth Symphony. Then we see the adventures of a Humpback Whale calf and his pod set to 'The Pines of Rome.' Next is the humourous story of several lives in 1930's New York City, scored with 'Rhapsody in Blue.' Following is a musical telling of the fairy tale, 'The Steadfast Tin Soldier' set to Dmitri Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2. Then a goofy Flamingo causes havoc in his flock with his yo-yo to the tune of the finale of 'Carnival of the Animals.' This is followed by the classic sequence from the original film, 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' starring Mickey Mouse and followed by 'Pomp and Circumstance' starring Donald Duck as a harried assistant to Noah on his Ark. Finally, we see the awesome tale of the life, death and renewal of a forest in a sequence featuring the composition, 'The Firebird.'

The highest quality entertainment and a sense of humor that this sequel / add-on an impressive animated Fantasia/2000 movie in its own right. The time of 74 minutes is a little let down. I would have liked to have seen more and more imaginative pieces. And he warned, the sorcerer's apprentice follows. As this was the only original outlet decided to put him back in, so really just get some more hours of new footage. That feels like a bit of a scam. But my favorite is a segment with Donald Duck, in fact they were all fresh, especially the one with the volcano. The music matches the story perfectly and has some really nice animation. Much higher than those ugly CGI crap we have these days. And the TV-style introductions more watchable Taylor believes that the so-called segments in the original. This was the first animated DVD movie Fantasia/2000 that was made for IMAX screens and digital image is striking. See this preference in an IMAX screen or on DVD. Displaying VHS only bright animation insult. It is sad that Disney has abandoned the traditional hand-drawn animation for theatrical projects. That is what the study was built on after all. But Disney is the shadow of herself, we all know. As good as the original Fantasia, but lost points for not being longer and more ambitious.

Probably the best animated movie: Fantasia/2000 I have ever seen. There is no dialogue and not really a movie. It is an assimilation of 8 stories. The stories are all beautiful, my favorite is the one of the city of New York, "Rhapsody in Blue", and the life, death and renewal, "Firebird Suite." The Fantasia/2000 Family movie is about everything beautiful in life; incredibly entertaining. Each rating is given a brilliant visual concept. And the animation speaks much more than "real life" movies or any dialogue could, for that matter. Animation, though generally for children is probably more necessary for us as adults we lose that sense of imagination, beauty and observation. Children are so wonderfully innocent, imaginative and creative, all that is important that they have been encouraged to feel that anyway.

I saw this in the Sony IMAX theater in Manhattan. I recommend seeing an IMAX theater if possible, the presentation is glorious. Fantasy, but an amazing and wonderful experience, it was boring in many places. Fantasía 2000, by contrast, is never boring, but is neither frantic nor intended for children 5 years. It is truly inspired by the visual representation of music and choice of music itself. I have paid just to see the development and visual feast complete circle of the piece that accompanies the Gershwin "Rhapsody in Blue." A flight segment with the whales was very well done but not so inspired. "Pompa and circumstance" tied to a biblical classic? You Betcha. Well done, Disney. I was bored with his late effort, but this movie: Fantasia/2000 is a new classic. If you like animation, see the movie. 9 / 10.
