LAPD Detective Sergeant Mitch Preston cares only about doing his job and nailing crooks. LAPD Patrol Officer Trey Sellars joined the force as a day job until his acting career took off. During an undercover drug buy Mitch was working that Trey botched by calling in for backup and drawing media attention, Mitch's partner is shot with a very exotic 12-gauge automatic weapon; Mitch then shoots the video camera out of the hands of a reporter filming the action when the cameraman refused to shut it down. Faced with a $10 million lawsuit, the department agrees to let producer Chase Renzi film Mitch's investigation for a new reality TV show, and constantly tries to make everything more 'viewer friendly' by changing everything about Mitch's life to fit the stereotypical view of police officers—and partners him with Trey.

I went to see this film: Showtime not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by the collaboration of Robert De Niro and Eddie Murphy. This is a fast-moving and the hour and a half step faster. This one certainly will not win any Oscars, but it was a change of pace for Mr. De Niro. He is good at comedy. Overall I enjoyed it.

This is a fun movie. Bob and Eddie Show The feel of it could lead to a sequel, but I doubt that will make enough money. DeNiro shows that it can be a great straight man again with some hilarious moments and spontaneous. Eddie was fun to see working with people instead of CGI animals and rodents. Rene Russo, so just watch the fun anyway and it has played its part excellent. Some tricks and unusual wildlife, especially the garbage truck scene. This was worth seeing in the theater. We needed a good laugh and has many of the movie: Showtime and takes away the high end. DO NOT LEAVE the beginning of the credits! At least a 7.

I read a lot of comments on IMDb about Showtime and many seem to miss the mark. I noticed a large number of respondents calling the typical "friend" of cinema. De Niro is in no way Murphy friend for most of this movie. In fact, part of the comedy of the film: Showtime De Niro is a reluctance to be friends with anyone. Murphy really shines here. He has returned to doing what he does best, acting like a ham. He is a policeman who wants to be an actor a lot and likes to be on the reality show. De Niro is perfect as the straight man who thinks the whole thing is stupid. I thought the two of them had great chemistry and a perfect casting choice. Rene Russo is also a major producer of the television. Of course, everything that makes Murphy loves and tries hard (with Murhpy) for going too DeNiro. Many respondents have played in the hilarious scene with William Shatner, reprising his role as TJ Hooker to train Murhpy and De Niro how to act as police. But my favorite scene involving Murphy at the "confessional" the hope that Wesly Snipes could get a police-like with the team instead of De Niro. Man, that was fun! Comedy often depends on personal tastes. Sure you could put holes in the plot, most of the time it takes a comedy. Psyched to see the link went to Murphy and De Niro ... I think it brought out the best of Murphy, which was good to see him at the top of his game again. I can only imagine that it was a great honor for Murphy to be paired with the great De Niro. Rating 8 out of 10 stars.
