| We saw "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" after "The Mask" was released. We could not possibly have foreseen how it would be crazy. At the time that Jim Carrey-ass started speaking, my father shouted: "Lee, you're crazy!" And believe me, it really was. Anyone who knows anything about the movie, you probably know that Carrey plays the title character, who has to find the Miami Dolphins' mascot. But above all, the entire Ace Ventura: Pet Detective Action film is an excuse to be silly. And, of course, the woman who plays reporter Melissa (Courtney Cox) went on to play a journalist in the "Scream" trilogy. Well anyway, Ace Ventura really is a master of disguise, and it is almost hard to believe that after almost a decade of stagnation in the comedy, the DVD film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective came and changed the way we think about humor. Hilarious. |
| Jim Carrey broke into the DVD movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective scene with his trademark manic in mock surrender of this detective story. There are no other comic talent in the film, but never mind, Carrey is so powerful that dominates the screen when the image with its big hair and wild Hawaiian shirts. The story itself is simply a detective story with the detective more interested in his menagerie of pets that the quarterback has disappeared. That is one of the great scenes, seeing the increasing number of animals coming to Carrey as allowed as a wailing note is the scene where he looks for a lot of football players and staff with his head, a lighter, and a bottle of chloroform. The best to the last scene in which Sean Young before battles to unmask his "little" secret. Along with Liar Liar, Carrey is in his nuts. |
