McMurphy, a man with several assault convictions to his name, finds himself in jail once again. This time, the charge is statutory rape when it turns out that his girlfriend had lied about being eighteen, and was, in fact, fifteen (or, as McMurphy puts it, 'fifteen going on thirty-five'). Rather than spend his time in jail, he convinces the guards that he's crazy enough to need psychiatric care and is sent to a hospital. He fits in frighteningly well, and his different point of view actually begins to cause some of the patients to progress. Nurse Ratched becomes his personal cross to bear as his resistance to the hospital routine gets on her nerves.

Nichilson gives his all in this blow, emotionally gripping drama in a mental institute. Winner of 5 Academy Awards-Best actor in a supporting role, Best Actress in a leading role, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Screenplay. And this has only been achieved twice. The other is The Silence of the Lambs in 1991. After reading some comments online about this acclaimed major film, I sat with my three brothers and saw one of the greatest DVD film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in living memory. After watching the DVD film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest could not believe how big it is sad, funny and convincing in every respect. And I understand why people doubt, cried, because it is emotional. The characters who have mental disabilities that make it difficult to understand how and frustrating. The end was very sad and very hard blow. Miloš Forman has done an exceptional job in creating the atmosphere and situations people face in the film. To summarize my point of view, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest is great, bright, clever and sad, funny and smart. This can not be any fog.

After the first reunion at which witnessed Ratched McMurphy controlled through manipulation of other patients, made a bet to get the best of it. I read the book and ended a week ago and is one of my favorites. There are more issues than a simple story of a tragic hero trying to grab power hungry nurse. The film: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is a little different. Certain scenes were filmed on location and in a different sequence in the book and is told through the eyes of Chief Bromden. If you read the book, watch a good movie, I think, has its funny moments and can relate to the characters. If you have not read the book and then see the movie, you may think that is a masterpiece and a very special story.
