| I read all the reviews on this movie. I am a great admirer the Dalai Lama. As such, I read the book on which this the DivX Movie Seven Years in Tibet is based. The DVD film Seven Years in Tibet is a horrible and degrading fictionalization of truth. For nothing alteration of small details or dramatic events of late, is not a documentary. But the script CHANGES impact, reaction, realities and changes in each character. Altered much the true relationship between Harar and the young Dalai Lama. From the ridiculous rivalry to a Tibetan woman (which degrades the culture of Tibet) to Harar the music box gift to Harar change of heart, everything about this Seven Years in Tibet Adventure is wrong - with the exception to the impressive picture. I understand that photographs of the Potala (palace) were smuggled out of Tibet. However, change a true story about the relationship between two people, one of them very important in this world, to create a DVD movie Seven Years in Tibet star is sad |
| True to the spirit of Tibet, with an incredible attention to detail (both material and spiritual), this DivX film Seven Years in Tibet is a notable achievement. The challenge was taken even more impressive that the main characters in the DVD movie Seven Years in Tibet (Heinrich Harrer and the Dalai Lama) were alive when the Seven Years in Tibet movie was made (50 years after the fact), because of the political sensitivities involved in making of the DVD movie Seven Years in Tibet and (partially as a result) the different sites involved in the production of films. In the end, one has to ask how everything was orchestrated for the Seven Years in Tibet Adventure film to appear so perfect, so fluid. Beyond the beautiful scenery and history, the DVD film Seven Years in Tibet also promotes a true reflection on cultural clashes, spirituality and materialism, the real achievements and personal goals. Sometimes moving, sometimes funny, subtly managed to superimpose a destination town and the main characters. |
| Heinrich Harrer written account of his time spent in Tibet is one of the most fascinating books I ever read, but obviously that was not easily adaptable to the big screen, as many details in the DVD movie Seven Years in Tibet have been made for dramatic effect (eg, Harrer personality is very different in the book). However, most of these data relate to the main characters (Harrer and Aufschnaiter) and their interactions with each other, and not the nature of your environment. Also, the most important section of the film, which serves as a tutor Harrer for the Dalai Lama, also seems to correspond to the events described in the book. I'd advise reading the book and the DVD movie Seven Years in Tibet and the movie: Seven Years in Tibet offers visual effects that the book lacks, and the book provides detailed information that the Seven Years in Tibet Adventure film lacks. |
| "Seven Years in Tibet'is one of the greatest films I have seen in my life, especially because it is based on a true story. Austria, 1939. Heinrich Harrer is having an argument with his wife, Ingrid Harrer, because he does not want to go to the Himalayas, since they are pregnant and feel alone. Henrich is a rude, impatient and insensitive man, but also a famous mountaineer who is a hero to Nazi propaganda. Going to climb Mt. Nanga Parbat in the Himalayas with Peter Aufschnaiter (the leader of the expedition) and other men. Months passed, and finally arrive at Nanga Parbat, defined by his own words "as a national obsession. Because of his personality proud, Heinrich Peter Saddly had problems during the expedition, the expedition failed because of landslides, and since they are in War times, Heinrich and his team were all prisoners of the British, as all enemies of Germany's allies are the enemies of the British Empire. (which means Austria, Heinrich in the country) Escape, and Peter and Heinrich succeeds in entering Lhasa, the Forbidden City of Dalai Lama in Tibet, where he lived.
