Jack (Daniel Day-Lewis) lives on the site of his abandoned island commune with his 16-year-old daughter Rose (Camilla Belle). Jack has sheltered Rose from the influences of the outside world, but now Rose's emerging womanhood poses troubling questions about the days ahead. A man who has lived a life motivated by environmentalism and other altruistic causes, Jack now rages at those who do not share his concerns, like developer Marty Rance (Beau Bridges), who is building a housing tract on the edge of his property. When Jack invites his girlfriend Kathleen (Catherine Keener) and her sons Rodney (Ryan McDonald) and Thaddius (Paul Dano) to live with them, Rose feels betrayed and the situation quickly becomes precarious. Rose acts out wildly, creating chaos. As everything flies out of control, Jack finds himself trapped in an impossible place and is forced to take action.

After not seeing much of Daniel Day-Lewis for a while, I was excited to see this movie, but I fear that may not live up to what we expect of him. It is much better than I could expect, not only because of a superb cast, but Rebecca Miller, writing and direction. Moments of humor with the ring of truth, and the characters have developed so well, you feel voyeuristic. Daniel Day-Lewis is, as always, brilliant. The internal struggle through his character are entirely credible and moving. In fact, all the characters in this story is a wonderfully realistic mixture of white and black - all have all the virtues and flaws. Very exciting and evocative. Visually beautiful, too. This DVD movie Ballad of Jack and Rose, The is a very underrated and deserves much more recognition than it seems it has received.

Admit it or not, the only strength of this Ballad of Jack and Rose, The film lies in the nature of Jack and Rose relationship. Writer and director Rebecca Miller used much of their creative life to all sorts of misfortune to make the single undeniable. For such a complex DivX Movie Ballad of Jack and Rose, The about a father-daughter relationship that I needed some really strong players. Now Mr. Day-Lewis is a phenomenon to act ... we all know that after "Gangs of New York" or "My left foot." But the real surprise came from Camilla Belle whose image dangerously innocent and emotionally fragile Rose is a true inspiration to all the actresses of her generation. The brief scene she shares with Jason Lee is perhaps the best example. Day-Lewis "Jack is known for its own right. My favorite scene is when it breaks to tears before Marty, or the night that happened to Rosa in the house who later crashed down. We are waiting impatiently for the most of this standard from these two talented actors.

I am a Ballad of Jack and Rose, The movie addict Indy, and I was watching this on an iffy because of the above description, but on a whim i bought it and watched it and fell in love. The story of Jack and Rose is said so beautifully and seamlessly as the story progressed I found myself hoping that something would change, or hope for some plot twist that was not raised her daughter, because I really wanted these two works. The devotion between father and daughter is incredibly portrayed, Daniel Day-Lewis was perfect and I can not imagine anyone else in this movie. Once I finished watching for the first time I met almost on a stunning progression of Rosa as a whole was a sensitive issue which is handled perfectly. There was a feeling of tension around that drew me in. I've never fallen in love with a DivX film Ballad of Jack and Rose, The like this before. Bravo to the writer and the cast and all the participants. Thank you for this beautiful Ballad of Jack and Rose, The Drama about love, loss and change of culture.
