| I agree with most of the acting is great, however, the direction is awful, even the corners I wonder what I was thinking besides reducing Blase this slow almost boring story at ab Redbelt film or mowing life. I sat watching this Redbelt Drama film by asking: Mamet has lost or is just recycling "house of cards' again but this time is short ... super certainly a great hero at this time that lack of them .. but I was great throughout the Redbelt movie and Mamet was not ... i went and i cannot believe the positive comments and I wonder if you saw the same Redbelt Drama movie .. esp with so many characters that have large holes and the plots are trite, without benefits except the obvious Great acting in fact, but unless you are renting this i cannot really recommend it because it felt like a Van Damme movie, but with much better, but the actors same direction, if not worse. 5 |
| I believe that David Mamet has done a great job with this movie. To demonstrate a real art and soul of a true martial artist. This DVD film Redbelt is not about training, action and competition. It's more about the life of a man who has his own challenge to the ideals and management turmoil that is happening. This DVD film Redbelt is also due to its refreshing touch of Brazil. :-) Casting is great, with one exception - Rodrigo Santoro: I personally do not think that was the right choice for the role. Perhaps he was not "dangerous" enough, I do not know, but not the right fit. Otherwise, the script is well written and delivered the message. May not be the greatest movie, but certainly deserves to be seen. |
| ****** NOTE: As a warning, this may be a spoiler in it, but I'm trying to be as vague as possible. I saw this Redbelt Drama in a classroom, where we see the film, digest, and discuss a week later. The class had mixed feelings about this ... what he most unpleasant taste. I understand that David Mamet is a very talented man, and he does a good job of carrying around a central theme of the DVD film Redbelt from beginning to end. The characters are very nuanced and very entertaining people ... fascinating confusion, if you will. Chiwetel Ejiofor makes a great performance, Mamet and intensity in the screenshot very, very well. However, the Redbelt Drama film has a crucial turning point towards the end. Mamet does a great job of winding up a story seamlessly into a great culmination of tension towards the end, and at the end .. I was stunned. I was laughing, almost crying, how the bad * was the end. We may not get the gender, maybe I do not understand some of the unspoken context in which the whole Redbelt film ... but the final is very disappointing to the crown could have been an amazing movie. |
