Berlin, July, 1945. Journalist Jake Geismer arrives to cover the Potsdam conference, issued a captain's uniform for easier passage. He also wants to find Lena, an old flame who's now a prostitute desperate to get out of Berlin. He discovers that the driver he's assigned, a cheerful down-home sadist named Corporal Tully, is Lena's keeper. When the body of a murdered man washes up in Potsdam (within the Russian sector), Jake may be the only person who wants to solve the crime: U.S. personnel are busy finding Nazis to bring to trial, the Russians and the Americans are looking for German rocket scientists, and Lena has her own secrets.

After the trick of white and black, about ten minutes in the movie, I would say, the rest is downhill. There is no explanation why the characters act the way we do for most of the main parties. Why, for example, is the Scottish in order to maintain the bar ready to do anything and everything to the character of Kate? And while we are at it, what you're doing a Scot running a bar in Berlin after the war? Huh? What character Kate is the motivation for acting the way that not every Good German, The film in terms of your husband? Almost everyone walks through his part and about an hour into the film, I was hoping I could make a quick exit, but I was with friends. This Good German, The Thriller film is absolutely not that is the plot cliches and platitudes that would be better to feed the pigeons at the amusement park.

Imitation may be a form of flattery, but "The Good German" is a cheap imitation of "Casablanca" which comes out as a parody. These are some of the many elements that are in both films: 1. A man and a woman is trying to exit a country. 2. Are blocked by a foreign power. 3. The woman is married to a heroic man who is wanted by the enemy. 4. The woman is a former lover of the main man. 5. The man who was rejected by the woman, but she wants. 6. The trouser is a "reluctant hero." 7. The man who helps women leaving the country. 8. The woman pulls a gun in the main man to escape. 9. Government officials are corrupt and cynical. 10.The ex-lovers for saying in an airport. The main difference between the films: "Casablanca" is wonderful because the performance is convincing and the dialogue is fascinating. "The Good German" is boring and the acting is wooden.
