An attorney (Ben Affleck) in a rush to make a court appointment to file legal papers involving a multi-million dollar trust accidentally collides with an alcoholic insurance salesman (Samuel Jackson), who also is a rush for a court appointment involving the custody of his children. The attorney leaves the scene of the accident and strands the salesman, causing him to miss his custody hearing. During the process of the post-crash discussion, the attorney accidentally drops the papers he needs to present in court. The judge gives him until the end of the day to present the papers and thus begins a cat and mouse game between the proponents. A few questionable actions later on both parties' part, they finally start questioning their actions and their lives. In the end, both come to new understanding of what is important and appear to be set in new ethical and moral directions. Contains mild violence and profanity.

Enjoyed the great performance of Ben Affleck (Gavin Banek), along with an outstanding performance by Samuel L. Jackson (Doyle Gipson), which are strangers until they have an accident on the FDR Drive in New York City. Gavin Banek Financial is a lawyer working for his stepfather, who owns the company and is preparing for bigger and better things in this law firm. Doyle Gipson is recovering from substance abuse and is very happy to buy a new home and also the fact that it will be able to go before a judge and show how his rehabilitation is hard work for him, so it can be custody of their two children. This accident caused problems for both of these men and the whole story is about how these two men are able to deal with some very difficult lessons to learn from both. There is only a very confusing romance bunch of kids dealing with their problems in an incredible way, and causing more problems than it needed. John Hart, "body heat" is one of the sponsors for Doyle Gipson in Group AA and makes every effort to ensure that Doyle does not have a drink.

This DivX film Changing Lanes was excellent from start to finish. Samuel Ben and a tug of power as you do not know which side to take or who is the good guy is bad. the plot moves fast and furiously, and if you do not pay attention in the first few minutes you do not know what happened. Worth watching
