| I knew very little about this story before seeing the film. I have not read the book and only saw a preview that took me to see reports. This is a poignant DVD movie Memoirs of a Geisha that grabbed me from the first moment of the isolated, sad and lonely house by the sea from which the main character was sold. The expressions on the faces of Sayuri and her sister, as they rode out brought tears to my eyes and tears followed in and out of the whole movie. The acting is wonderful, the costumes, exquisite, and the scenery alone is worth the price of admission. I am not Asian so I guess that's why not just get the fuss about the cast. I just saw actors as beautiful characters who lived and changed. I will not have time to go through the scenes, except to say most of them grabs. I went through a lot of emotions watching this Memoirs of a Geisha History movie and that is always an indication that the Memoirs of a Geisha film is great. I left with a sense of wonder, satisfaction and happiness. I am only saddened by the negative reception some are giving this movie. Even in this Memoirs of a Geisha History movie theater was stuck in the smallest room, away from the beaten path, as if failure is assumed (or perhaps they were told to ensure that no ??????). This DivX Movie Memoirs of a Geisha is a very deep and not spoon feed the public. If you do not like a movie: Memoirs of a Geisha that makes you think, go east. | I must admit, I loved the dancing scenes. Talk about eye candy! Very very very cool. The hairstyles were a little off, however. If you've seen pictures of geisha hairstyles are nothing like the DivX Movie Memoirs of a Geisha versions, at least a point or two for historical accuracy. But what makes me really hate this DivX film Memoirs of a Geisha (and left several million points) is that everyone is treated as if it were a documentary, when in fact this story is pure fiction. What this DivX film Memoirs of a Geisha needs is a warning, "The guy who wrote the book that this DVD film Memoirs of a Geisha was based on a cup of tea with a geisha, and then did a lot of things." I would go so far as to call slander. Geishas are not prostitutes as they say in the Memoirs of a Geisha movie and the book.
