I love the Lemony Snicket books, it was perhaps inevitable that I hate this Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events movie (although I must say that I love the Harry Potter books and in general I am quite satisfied with their versions of the film). What are these people with this thought? Anyone who has read the books to understand my dismay, while someone who saw the movie: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events without reading the books, you probably wondered why the books are so popular. I must say that one of the worst things (which is saying something here) about this film: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events is Jim Carrey. As a cigarette has been classified a product of nicotine, so this movie: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events seemed like nothing more than a device for Jim Carrey. Every time we started raids on the screen and I wanted to fast forward security. The child actors, moreover, were very good in view of what they had to work. However, a deep disappointment at what all the way around.
Too bad. The three children were very bright, but they were overshadowed by the exaggerated actions of Jim Carrey. They gave all the good lines, which are in accordance with their right to hilarious performances, but does not serve the story. In the theater we call this selfish act. Count Olaf is not, rather should not be the star of the story. Adult characters and their comments were meant to be funny, horribly clashed with sadness that orphans portrayed so well. Sought to create a humorous piece for children and a chilling mystery at the same time and that did not fit. It would have been infinitely better to keep the same bizarre black comedy of the books they had and the strong pull of humor that pull you. Tim Burton, I think, would have done a better job at. The peculiar humor in the hands of Edward Scisor-comes to mind. And Allen Rickman would have been better Count Olaf, which tends to allow others more room to move and would have an effect on their performance creepier. However, there is a beautiful and fit the mood dark mood of the book had had the same meaning twisted reality. That saved me. Really an unfortunate event.
I've never before heard of Lemony Snicket, and frankly, after watching this disaster, I could not care if I never hear of him. Supposedly for children, fantasy, all this comes as a rate cut Tim Burton film, and a very bad about that. As Count Olaf, Jim Carrey face looks like a rubber blow off Beetlejuice, and as a great actress Meryl Streep is totally lost in a thankless role. The children are cute, but they seem to be too old for their roles. And exactly what was to have no place in this? 1950 cars. 1920 ships, trains, 1930 in a late Victorian? Prehaps a parallel universe? The DVD film Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events does not explain it.A classic case of an FX Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events film built around its actors.I saw it with my niece and nephew and that he hated. It also gave my niece nightmares too. Fails miserably at all levels. Even "black comedy" should provide some laughs. This not. It was like being in Disney 'dark journey "too long.
