| Zzyzx is a wicked and wild, exciting Zzyzx Thriller full of moments where the viewer can not tell if there is another next breath. Anyone who is accustomed to Kenny Johnson (The Shield) as Lemansky will be blown away by Lou! His performance is so rough and raw, which makes the character Brad Pitt early grace (Kalifornia) to shame. Every aspect of this DivX film Zzyzx was chilling, chilling and strangely terrifying. My skin reacted as perhaps to hear fingernails on a blackboard .... only, no noise happens! Zzyzx was a Ryan and Robyn Cohen and Fox were great too. "The Life Aquatic" to Zzyzx? Well, just never know what lies behind the eyes of someone. What a trip! Richard Halpern is a success in this case. I can not wait to see what others have to say about him, and to see what you're doing next! Go Richard! |
| Z I saw this Zzyzx Thriller film at a festival in Miami. Spooked that garbage out of me! I like movies that are surprises, and this did. Kenny j impressive, BTW! It begins with finding the bones of these Mexicans in the desert, then there. Kenny plays Lou, a handsome but a little crazy to take this sorta Ryan dweeby character to Las Vegas. They stop in front of the Z on the road (sorry, can not type without looking) and things that happen out there because I would not say they spoil. Trust me, do not read the comments that have spoilers. You like if you do not know the twists coming. They meet a couple more people on the road, a Candace, who has quite funky clothing. Better to quit before blowing anything. Check it out. Can not wait for the DVD. |
| I love suspense / thriller movies and I was very impressed with it. ZZYZX is beautifully done in all aspects and leads to an exciting journey from beginning to end. The movie: Zzyzx is very gritty and the camera work and the establishment of giving a very desolate and isolated increases the feeling that the great performances given by the actors. The mystique of the road itself and the merits of the Composite / Zillers are great starting points for this walk in the desert. You are trapped in the action and characters and never see the twists and turns ahead. It is not enough sex, drugs and music to keep up and wanting more. The character of Lou, wonderfully portrayed by Kenneth Johnson, is very dark and disturbing. I found this Zzyzx Thriller very enjoyable to watch and recommend to all find a way to see it. It's really great. My only regret is that I could not see it in a theater. |
| As a connoisseur of twisted films, I was expecting it. While I can not say how disappointed I was frustrated by parts of it. My criticism would be worse than the legend was prominently mentioned in the beginning, but never more. Nothing supernatural reared its head nor necessary. However, an air of hope has been created, but never satisfied. And why Mexicans were so determined to crack open the wooden leg? As if they knew there was something inside. And finally, why the car had Alberta plates on it? There is no mention anywhere else in Canada. Those are minor things, however. If you like twisted movies, you like this. |
| Zzyzx is just possibly the best independent films I've seen in a long time. Period. From any point of view, is a great movie. Is well written, well acted, and (especially considering that the limited budget) and directed. Ask yourself a favor and put this one in your NetFlix queue, and then spread the word. Is the fact that films that are occasional power to get this keeps me scouring the shelves of video stores, independent Zzyzx film and reading reviews online. In a world where the Blair Witch Project becomes a creator of several million dollars, it is a shame that this jewel prison has remained under the radar for so long. Helping to keep its place. | Special thanks to Richard Halpern stellar review for me! I do not know what the "legend" of zzyzx road has to do with this DVD film Zzyzx at all. The "legend" was mentioned at the beginning of the film, through titles. That's it. Can not find what you had to do with history. Supernatural elements? Where? Maybe I slept through that part. In fairness, I dream at some point during most of the films. Check it out, however, if you're a fan of Kenny (The Shield). Could do worse than the video store. I hope that distribution! I will give a 5 per Kenny (and girls) to act. |
| Just saw a cut of this Zzyzx film and it was fantastic! Lemonhead exciting thriller starring doubt that the shield. Great photography, I am guessing history. Lots of action, drugs, blood, sex, fun! Very mysterious, he went to a great pace! Story about a couple of guys that run over a guy with his car then try to cover it up, only to bump into the wife doubt 5 minutes later. Then all hell breaks loose! Actually created the legend of Zzyzx road very well. There were some great supernatural elements. Had this great car crash sequence and performance of all players were first class. Sexy actress who was The Life Aquatic too. Zip for the Zzyzx Thriller movie in 90 minutes .... I wish the trip is longer because it is really exciting! Check it out. Truly a great, great movie. |
