Civic duty is a well done and well acted Civic Duty Thriller with some mixed messages. While writing is a bit weak in the dialog in some places, the story all together and stays together. My biggest problem with this DivX Movie Civic Duty is its overall message. Until the final minutes, the message was clear in terms of political persuasion. For the conservative, the message seems to be that our democratic system is too soft, allowing terrorists carte blanch bed plan their nefarious activities under the protection of law. The average citizen should keep their eyes open, be alert, but a header, and pursue their instincts suspicions. The Arabs who live next door, in fact, could be the next murderer of innocent people. For liberals, the message seems to be a wake-up call. The media instills fear in us - these days about terrorists hiding among us. So powerful is this daily bombardment of messages that just a guy with too much time on their hands can be held with suspicion, and lose his mind and reason. But the final minutes, which seems obvious that the Arabs suspect in question was in fact a terrorist, appears to justify the most extreme right take on the matter. Disturbing, to say the least. |
A Tribeca Film Festival favorite topic-thriller with great touch. I agree it was a slow start .... like a roller coaster! I guess that is almost 5 years since 9 / 11 and the time comes to light, perhaps enough to look back on the political and emotional content of the time. Although not directly related to 9 / 11, this DivX film Civic Duty gave me emotional flashbacks Distribution was good, Peter Krause had a lot of potential in this part and it was good! However, a star is born with Khaled Abol Naga and very convincing portrait of a difficult character. Although it has apparently made many films in his native Egypt, the U.S. debut impressive work. Despite myself, I felt sympathy for the maybe-maybe-no terrorist. I bet you'll see much more of Khalid. |
I'm no expert, I like watching movies and I liked it. has a good story and good actors to sustain it. there is not much character development, but then is not this kind of history - like his has opened a window for us, the spectators in the world of a family which has its dreams and problems, but now and then fragments of the larger picture and suddenly everything goes wrong and crazy ... as a kind of background - when men forget the love and start playing their "game", its always the innocent who pay the price for it its a good Civic Duty film - do not be afraid to see you go peace |
The subject is very interesting, and something important in the face of the post-9/11 terrorist attack, resulting in a lack of reaction from many U.S. citizens to the people of Central and Eastern culture. This paranoid-episode focuses on a man down and out, and suspicions that the experience when a new neighbor of apparent Middle Eastern background moves in an apartment nearby. Several pre-existing marital tensions in his marriage to help fuel their determination. All that work well done. Most of all, well done. But it is simply depressing and down mood, from beginning to end, so do not think of looking for weekend entertainment. If you were waiting for action, there is almost none here. Even on hold, there is very little. It is more of a drama with a slight advantage in points in the last third of the film. The last minute or two of the ending of the DivX Movie Civic Duty I made it clear what had happened and what is entailed. I felt I could be at least two ways. In general, it is a good DVD movie Civic Duty with food for thought. But I do not think of it as invigorating and stimulating - it was more frustrating, from my point of view. |
After being fired in a downsizing of its business, the bitter and fanatical American accountant Terry Allen (Peter Krause) is facing financial problems with the mortgage on your house. He uses his time to snoop below its neighbor Gabe Hassan (Khaled Abol Naga), a student of Middle East that has the title of master, sponsored by an Islamic organization in an American university, and called the FBI to tell his suspicion . However, the FBI agent Tom Hilary (Richard Schiff), asks you to forget Hassan. When Terry tells his wife, Marla Allen (Kari Matchett) who had contacted the FBI, she gets upset and leaves Terry. However, their obsessive fanaticism trigger paranoia and alienation against its neighbor and a tragic conclusion. "Civic Duty" is repeating the history of the "rear window", ie a neighbor snooping another, to expose the pace under the prejudice against immigrants and alienation in the U.S. after the infamous September 11. Peter Krause gives a high level of performance in the role of an average citizen of the middle class, frustrated by unemployment, bombarded by the media with information shallow against Islamic people and their alienation and intolerance into paranoia that the poor students was associated with an Islamic terrorist group. The plot is totally credible and the tragic conclusion is very realistic. Unfortunately, the DVD is released by FOX misinformation on deck, as it has no subtitles and NOT CLOSED CAPTION. My vote is eight. Title (Brazil): Not available |
