| The British style of the original Bedazzled is, frankly, insane, and that is an understatement. This version is more rational and knowledgeable in the language of Hollywood and still works - quite well, indeed. Elizabeth Hurley and enjoyed the thought of the devil who had to make a great contribution of Peter Cook. Perhaps Mrs. Satan and wants to work outside the home, while Peter was condemning others to hell? (BTW, I thought the Peter / Dudley dobies were a nice touch.) Brendan Fraser does his usual silly-type routine and his alter ego stories have different results than funny (athlete) to the screamingly hysterical (dolphin overly sensitive and sunset obsessed type). But in general, an artist who is really nice. This Bedazzled movie is a harmless and enjoyable way to spend 90 minutes. But the British dry wit is missing, finally, be sure to see the original! |
| Many people have criticized the film: Bedazzled and not without reason, but still fun with some really very funny. It is certainly better than many other comedies of Fraser, but can not hold a candle to Blast from the Past. Not exactly original or brilliant, but the ambition of being entertaining. Some of the scenarios in which the character of Fraser found himself really very funny and very good job at achieving its comic effect, although a number of pieces are not all that funny or clever. The film: Bedazzled is not without its valuable message, either, though it is an ancient and well-worn one. The point about just trying to be who you are, who do not wish for the world, wealth, etc, is still relevant and meaningful, which the Bedazzled Romance film at least some depth. Therefore, it is a bit (though barely) more than just mindless entertainment. |
| Overall a nice Bedazzled Romance movie with laughter and smiles, but nothing special for me to return to it. I like Brendan Fraser and the appearance of Elizabeth Hurley who stole a little of my attention (this fact alone can make me see something again that missed to catch). The Bedazzled Romance movie is all about Brendan playing a miserable guy named Elliot, desperately trying to meet people, but not doing so. The character is quite sad because I see real life many people in it. Fast forward and Elliot is an opportunity to fulfill his dream through each offered seven wishes by the devil (Elizabeth Hurley) in exchange for his soul. Film is all about wishes, do comedy and even laughs. All ends happily, of course (I do not consider this as a spoiler, since it is an unassuming comedy twists of irony or dark), which is appropriate for the film, but it is not unique. I recommend the DVD version contains deleted scenes, as they cut a whole episode probably want it in, but it was fun and really adds to the film, even if it is seen after the main DVD film Bedazzled is finished. I would like the original DVD movie Bedazzled that was based on this one, starring Dudley Moore, whom I am not very keen, but the idea is good and just might have something extra. Rated 5 / 10 to be fun and enjoyable to watch, but nothing more. |
| This is one of those movies where it's really hard to put your finger on what exactly went wrong. It has a good director, great cast and inventive scenarios, but the DivX film Bedazzled I wondered why I was not laughing when I thought I was supposed to be a comedy. The only bright spot in this Bedazzled film were the work of makeup effects (especially in Branden Frasier), slick special effects and that piece of female perfection is Elizabeth Hurley. If you find her so beautiful as I do, then you really want to see this DVD movie Bedazzled just for her "performance". She goes throughout the Bedazzled Romance very skimpy costumes developers to use and which was clearly the reason for the PG-13 rating. The red bikini was my personal favorite ...... WOW! But for everyone else there is not much to recommend here. It's just not funny or entertaining, and only comes across as bland. Note: the movie: Elizabeth Hurley 3: 10 |
| GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE Since I have been convinced that Brendan Fraser is one of the brightest new talent throughout the years ahead. He gets a chance to prove how good I am in hiding its true BEDAZZLED, from a nerdy office worker and go through a series of changes in an effort to make a pact with the devil (Elizabeth Hurley). None of your wishes are successful because each has a hitch, designed by the cunning Hurley to failure. I never saw the original with Dudley Moore, but here I see that the script is in the way of delivery of the comedy, despite a solid Brendan's style for this type of thing. He reached the peak of his comic talent with his impersonation of a millionaire America, guaranteed to draw laughter. But much of the story is too episodic for the results to be more than reasonably successful. Hurley was on his paper with an attractive sexy that is almost as overwhelming to the viewer as to the nature of Fraser. To summarize: Fraser fans enjoy their multifaceted romp. |
| Bedazzled flat is a desperate attempt to remake a classic. It is not horrible, but I suppose that people with talent like Harold Ramis and Brendon Fraser will have to produce a really bad movie. The problem seems to be the pace - this version seems to hit a joke content so every few minutes, while the original was much more fun all the time. This version is just trying - in the original were the magic words "Julie Andrews," who are "Desire". It means "hope" that you think is funny? The big difference is, of course, casting Elizabeth Hurley as the devil. As an actress, Ms. Hurley has nice breasts. That's probably unfair, which is not bad and do not bring a sense of style to the role, but it is a problem - why the main character still be interested in his work after getting a look at Mrs. Hurley division? Fraser is sensational, and probably deserves an Oscar nod, if people have ever comedies Oscar nominations. Fraser is almost the only player that can go from the theater (with honors) from the action (The Mummy) to comedy (George of the Jungle) and credibility to each. He deals with its various functions flawlessly. But the script is flat and listless, and apparently will start to build without motivation. The end is directly out of nothing, but it makes a certain amount of sense. However, Bedazzled is far from the original. |
