| ! SPOILERS! This DivX Movie Catacombs had potential but soon got lost in my mind while I was trying to ignore the constant screams from the main character. See more forty minutes of running, shouting and a nervousness behind the camera with any single character on screen time (usually a very bad back only). Possibly could have been saved with a long intro sisters in life and the opposition in Paris on the right and quickly jump into the catacombs. One can assume that the sister suffered too coddled by the "rebels" and, therefore, is chosen to learn a lesson, but why do we have to assume, when it could have been easier to explain? If you can sit through the stomach while shouting (lets say after a solid 10 minutes of "HELP ME PLEASE! ANYONE!" The mute button is a valuable part of his life) and then wait for the end of that favor. Almost compensates for the dreadful performance, history and monotonous plot. Almost. However, if you do not mind seeing the intro, sadistic screamfest pass, and then enjoy the catch up after this movie: Catacombs otherwise prepare for a lot of screaming treble. |
| The main role of women in this Catacombs Horror is very regrettable. She lost in the catacombs under the Paris twice in half hour. The first time that an escaped lunatic murderer, and soon after, which unfortunately has become separated from a room full of ravers and a platoon of police. Huh? We are supposed to believe that an elaborate, illegal rave is set in the catacombs, with rock concert light towers and sound system. In addition to the cast and insipid plot, like many of today's so-called horror movies, the characters act very stupidly to believe. The sister arrived in Paris for his first visit abroad and met with an idiotic joke. Friendly welcome, donkeys. Too stupid everywhere. This Catacombs Horror movie is apparently aimed at the teenage audience, with the induction of headache, shock rave "music," but I think most teens are too sophisticated for this inanity. | CATACOMBS is one of those horror films that I've seen very lonely because I like the lead actress. I have sat through movies like CREEP (by Franka Potente), DEAD MARIA (by Dominique Swain), Venom (by Agnes Bruckner), Cry_Wolf (by Lindy Booth) ... I could go, but you get the point. I'm a fool. And the fact that they tend to buy rather than rent this DVD brings me beyond doubt suckerdom in the jerk. What can I say? Add to the list above CATACOMBS, I've seen for any reason other than that Shannyn Sossamon in it. For me, it is one of three or four most beautiful women in the world, and have sat through much worse only to see his films (A HISTORY OF THE KNIGHTS, and another thing she did with Heath Ledger, rioja it was called), so I really can not complain too much. CATACOMBS while it was bad enough, it did at least have a pretty cool final. I will not spoil for you, but if you're a fan of Shannyn Sossamon (or pink, I guess) you might get a little enjoyment of it. Maybe. |
