I knew very little about this Becoming Jane Romance movie before I went to see him - I think the trailer was the sum total of what I had heard. Now, I know very little about Jane Austen or Jane to be his life just as I am considering a film: Becoming Jane loosely based on / inspired by his life. The Becoming Jane film tells the story of a young woman, Jane, who refuses to marry only for money and embarks on writing to support itself instead of relying on a husband. The story is well told, with excellent performances by all (especially Anne Hathaway and the always brilliant James Cromwell). The pace was perhaps a little slow at times and Jane it can be quite annoying and contradictory, but simply shows the flaws of human nature rather than a criticism of the DVD film Becoming Jane itself. Visually the Becoming Jane Romance film was impressive. Brilliant scenery, excellent costumes. All used to great effect to enhance the DVD movie Becoming Jane without being too loud or distracting from the story. In general, this is a nice film, but there with Pride and Prejudice or Sense and sensibility, in my opinion. Well worth seeing (unless you are going to be upset about every little error), but probably not worth adding to the collection of DVDs.

The Becoming Jane movie has beautiful settings, costumes and nice. That's it. Things that seem "off": -- -The books in the library 200 years old ... -Anne Hathaway is not only through an intelligent young writer, that is, by Jane Austen. An actress with a more subtle and more clever to fall into the role that would have been a better choice. -The lead actor looked like a teenager! -There was no need for the film: Becoming Jane to as many endings. One would have been enough -The Becoming Jane Romance movie insults Jane Austen's wit and power of observation. Why should she have a broken heart, to write the way they did? Overall, only to see the BBC Pride and Prejudice 5 hours. And then you will realize that this DVD film Becoming Jane is so mediocre in comparison.
